‘Dru’ translates from Sanskrit as the ‘still point’, the still centre of the turning wheel, the calm in the eye of the storm, a state of being in the world but unaffected by its turmoil and vicissitudes.
A combination of soft flowing movements similar to Tai Chi and yoga help restore energy flow in the body. There are set structures to each lesson using activations, Japanese Do-In (body tapping), Energy Block Release sequences, breathing and deep relaxation.
The continued practice of Dru Yoga can help to bring us back to our heart and to feel empowered in our relationships at home and work. It is also a very helpful form of yoga for those who tend to towards being emotional.
As the approach is very gentle, it is a very safe form of exercise for those who are recovering from long illnesses or injury or those who find Hatha yoga too strenuous. It is also very nourishing for those who are pregnant.
